An imam at a century-old mosque near Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence said he received an eviction notice, Al Jazeera reported in a video published Oct. 24. The report presented the notice as the imam’s claim and did not name its issuer.

The video said Muslims in India fear the mosque could be demolished. Al Jazeera also reported that water and electricity service to the mosque had been cut.

Separately, the outlet described a broader demolition drive in the area.
