The latest expansion for the immensely popular “World of Warcraft” MMORPG has been out for a while now, and “Legion” has been receiving a lot of praise. One of the things that veteran players are especially rabid about is the prospect of attaining 10 more levels after they maxed out their characters to the previous ceiling of level 100. However, while this may seem like the end goal for some, it’s actually where the expansion really shows what it’s made of.
As Kotaku points out, reaching level 110 is not where the game ends. For a lot of players, it might seem like the ultimate goal, but it’s nothing more than a staging field for when “Legion” rewards the dedicated champions with more fun elements.
Upon reaching the level cap, players will be treated to a host of new activities, quests, and content that could be considered overwhelming. Much of this has to do with the main goals of the expansion, which is to find those all-important magical artifacts to defeat the demons and halt their advance. However, it’s also when class-specific quests start becoming available in earnest from “Order Halls.”
More than that, players at level 110 will start playing timed missions in the “Broken Isles” area in order to gather some resources, get the chance to improve their artifact weapons via research, and gain access to a new area in the game. All in all, it can safely be assumed that reaching max levels is not where the fun with “Legion” ends; it’s where most of it becomes available.
For those who haven’t touched their “World of Warcraft” characters in a long time, it should be noted that a lot has changed for the game over the years. As Ars Technica notes, Blizzard has certainly pushed themselves and their technology to the limit with this latest expansion, and the graphical improvements are just the beginning.
