A small group of large transactions dominated Indian auto-tech fundraising in 2026, with Tracxn counting $1.3 billion across 97 equity rounds through Oct. 15, as 10 rounds accounted for about 70% of the total.

Every round in the top group was at least $34 million. Together, those deals raised $900 million, while the other 87 rounds brought in about $400 million. Later-stage funding reached $810 million, more than half of the reported total, and eight of the 10 biggest deals were Series C or later. Most of the money was concentrated in a small number of comparatively mature financings.

Tracxn’s measure covers U.S. dollar equity funding and excludes debt, grants, post-IPO funding and initial coin offerings. Tracxn listed River at $102 million, while River announced a $120 million Series C. TechCrunch reported the round included venture debt, but neither River’s announcement nor TechCrunch’s report specifies an equity amount that reconciles the two figures.

Rapido led Tracxn’s list at $240 million. Prosus said a $240 million primary funding round it led valued Rapido at $3 billion post-money. Prosus also said it increased its stake through primary and secondary investments. Rapido said the capital would help it expand into high-growth regions and strengthen its supply network; Prosus said the investment would support expansion and livelihood access.

Electric two-wheeler maker Simple Energy announced its Series C on Sept. 30, saying it raised ₹1,750 crore, or about $180 million, entirely in equity. The company said it plans to use the funds for a new factory, higher production and a larger sales and service network. The round was led by the family office of Dr. Arokiaswamy Velumani.

Tracxn recorded $2.1 billion across 195 rounds for full-year 2025. That comparison covers a longer period than the 2026 total, which runs only through Oct. 15.
