Instagram, the popular photo-sharing app, is reintroducing its Peek feature for Android users. Similar to 3D Touch feature on latest iOS smartphones, the feature allows users to simply peek at an image by long pressing on the screen, without the need to open it.
Once the user has had a sneak peek of a picture, he or she simply needs to release the screen to get back to the page.
Tech 2 reported that Instagram had previously launched this feature but pulled it off for unknown reasons. However, users are getting this handy feature back with the latest version (v7.14.0) of the app on Android.
The photo-sharing app has also put up its list of most-liked photos for last year that includes Meredith the Cat (Taylor Swift’s pet) in two of the top 10, along with few other superstars.
The company is also testing support for multiple accounts on Android reportedly. However, there is no official word about its availability for iOS users. Multiple accounts feature is likely to benefit social media managers and business owners who handle more than one account for work and promotions.
