WILMINGTON, Del., Feb. 08, 2016 -- InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC), a mobile technology research and development company, today announced that InterDigital Europe will participate in “Use of the oneM2M standard in the oneTRANSPORT field trial,” a webinar hosted by oneM2MTM on February 12, 2016.
During the webinar, Dr. Rafael Cepeda, Senior Manager, InterDigital Europe, will join experts from Arup and Buckinghamshire County Council to examine the intelligent-transport needs of local government and transport-sector authorities in the UK and how the oneM2M standard addresses their operational requirements across a broad set of stakeholders. The presenters will also describe how the oneTRANSPORT project, an integrated transport initiative targeted at transport authorities, is using the oneM2M standard.
“Intelligent Transport Systems are one of the most pertinent subcategories of IoT applications,” said James Nolan, Executive Vice President, IoT Solutions. at InterDigital. “This webinar provides a combined view from transport experts, local authorities and platform providers, underscoring the importance in shift from platforms to ecosystems in IoT.”
oneTRANSPORT, which is supported by Innovate UK, was proposed by a consortium that consists of eleven partners including InterDigital Europe, Arup and Buckinghamshire County Council. The project aims to enable multimodal transport information to be published by data owners (e.g. transport authorities and new third parties) and accessed nationally by transport authorities, application developers and others.
