Italian industrial new orders index rises in May

Italian industrial turnover index, on a seasonally adjusted basis, rose 1.5 percent sequentially in May, showed the official statistics office, Istat. Domestic market turnover index rose 1.6 percent and non-domestic market was up 1.2 percent. The percentage change of the average of the last three months compared to the previous three months was +0.9% (+0.9% in domestic market and +0.7% in non-domestic market).

The industrial new orders index rose 4.3 percent sequentially in May (+3.9% in domestic market and +4.9% in non-domestic market). The percentage change of the average of the last three months compared to the earlier three months was -1 percent.

On a year-on-year basis, the industrial turnover index rose 7.6 percent in May. The unadjusted industrial new orders index was up 13.7 percent year-on-year. Meanwhile, the seasonally adjusted volume turnover index rose 1.9 percent as compared with April.
