“Jane the Virgin” season 5 will have a very interesting premiere with Michael (Brett Dier) coming back from the dead quite literally. But Jane has found love once again with Rafael (Justin Baldoni) and the two are planning to get married.
It now feels like “Jane the Virgin” season 5 is bringing fans back to the love triangle that started from the beginning of the series. Now, Jane (Gina Rodriguez) is once again confronted by the dilemma of choosing between two amazing men she spent the past years with.
Jane and Rafael have been through a lot and greatly matured together in the most recent years of their lives. But with Michael being the love of her life, how “Jane the Virgin” season 5 ends is still a big mystery.
On the other hand, a fan theory offers an interesting possibility in “Jane the Virgin” season 5 and Team Michael may not like it. Redditor u/nadia_diaz suggests that the show will live up to its pattern of “things coming full circle” with Jane’s fate becoming similar to the story of Rogelio (Jaime Camil) and Xiomara (Andrea Navedo).
“Xo got pregnant, had a kid, and then had the ‘fairytale’ marriage to Rogelio, the father of her child, years after having a kid. If things come full circle there, it could mean that Jane follows the same pattern: Jane gets pregnant, has Mateo, and then gets the ‘fantasy’ wedding with Raf, the father of her child, years after having a kid,” the fan suggests about “Jane the Virgin” season 5.
Unfortunately, “Jane the Virgin” season 5 is where the series ends. So whether Jane lives her happily ever after with either Rafael or Michael will be resolved in this installment. But the franchise lives on as a spinoff series is confirmed to air on The CW in the future.
“Jane the Virgin” season 5 showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman and Gina Rodriguez are attached as executive producers. However, Variety reports that the story of the upcoming spinoff is not about any character in the original series. So it will possibly introduce an all-new cast.
Back in October, Urman confirmed that “Jane the Virgin” season 5 will not premiere “until January” 2019. If they are keeping that release window, a release date announcement must happen anytime soon.
