Fox News host Jesse Watters said Republican control of the U.S. Senate was uncertain during midterm voting, pointing to President Donald Trump’s absence from the ballot as a possible turnout factor.

The Independent reported that Watters made the comments Tuesday on Fox News’ The Five. He said, “I don’t feel great,” and described Senate control as “very much in play.”

The outlet reported that Democrats needed four Senate seats and three House seats to secure majorities. It also said Trump had urged supporters to act as if his name were on the ticket.

Watters gave an example from his home: He said two contractors had not yet voted when he asked them. He added that he thought they might have voted earlier if Trump had been a candidate.

The Independent said voting was still underway when Watters spoke Tuesday night.
