Jetstar has launched 10,000 one-way fares for $19 (US$13) servicing 22 routes to jumpstart travel across Australia.
The massive sale of cheap flights occurs when millions of Australians desperately miss interstate family and friends.
The 22 routes include Melbourne to Sydney, Melbourne to Byron Bay, and Sydney to Gold Coast.
Other fares available are a $49 (US$33.6) flight from Brisbane to Mackay and $79 (US$54.8) from Brisbane to Darwin and Sydney to Hamilton Island.
More discounted flights for other routes will be offered once the border restrictions are eased.
Meanwhile, Qantas is offering its 13 million frequent flyers triple points on all flights nationwide across 92 routes and 57 destinations from 27 June until 31 October 2020.
Qantas Group chief executive Alan Joyce said that their research indicated that over 75 percent of Australians plan to fly in the next six months.
The two airlines, who emphasized that they have a responsibility to boost the local tourism sector, are also offering greater flexibility to customers with the ability to change their flight dates once without charges.
