‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ episode 13 release date, spoilers: Yuji saves Nanami from Mahito’s Domain Expansion; part 2 premieres January 2021

Fans learned the hard way that, contrary to what the anime’s opening theme shows, Junpei did not live long enough to join Jujutsu High. In “Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 13, the fight continues as Yuji and Nanami work together hoping to finally exorcise Mahito.

‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ episode 13 spoilers: Yuji and Nanami team up vs. Mahito

“Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 13 will pick up from the tragic events in Junpei’s former school. Nanami has been very protective of Yuji and made it his responsibility to keep him from fighting against the powerful cursed spirit that is Mahito. But given the situation they are currently facing, Nanami decides they should team up to become successful.

Nanami deduces that Mahito is either unable to use his cursed technique on Yuji or refuses to do so. Either way, he sees it as an advantage. Mahito, of course, has reason he does not want to directly attack the Jujutsu High student. In “Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 13, he will focus on taking down Nanami and isolate Yuji by letting out several transfigured humans.

Mahito believes Yuji will not dare kill the ex-humans. However, based on the manga, one of the transfigured souls begs that Yuji kills them, which will shock him at first. But he will later comply and perform a mercy killing on them and this will allow him to return to the fight in “Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 13.

Yuji and Nanami’s combination attacks will subdue Mahito, but the cursed spirit has a trump card -- he will unleash his Domain Expansion: Self-Embodiment of Perfection technique. Mahito, however, only traps Nanami and leaves Yuji out. Again, Nanami will see this as a good thing even though he knows being trapped means it is also going to be the end for him. “Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 13 should also provide some flashback scenes to let fans know why Nanami previously decided to leave Jujutsu High and why he eventually decided to return as a jujutsu sorcerer.

Despite knowing little information about Domain Expansion, Yuji will punch his way into the trap much to Nanami’s surprise. Yuji will then attack Mahito with Divergent Fist, which will then destroy his Domain Expansion. The cursed spirit will be almost out of power at this point so, instead of fighting to the end, he will retreat and escape through the sewers. Unfortunately, he will be able to leave in “Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 13 before Nanami can exorcise him.

Once the fight is over, “Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 13 will likely cover the part where Yuji and Nanami have a brief talk. Yuji expresses regret in killing the ex-humans. Nanami tells Yuji that their work can be exhausting, but tells Yuji that what he did to save him from Mahito this day could also help another person tomorrow. For this reason, Nanami finally recognizes Yuji’s abilities and will call him a jujutsu sorcerer.

‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ episode 13 release date, where to watch

“Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 13 is the last installment of the anime this year. But it has been confirmed that the second cour will premiere in January 2021 and will cover the much-awaited Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc.

“Jujutsu Kaisen” episode 13 will be released on Saturday, Dec. 26. New episodes are released with English subtitles on Crunchyroll.
