Jungkook of BTS is in hot water after Dispatch released a shocking report that he is one of the idols who have visited some clubs in Itaewon on April 25. The date marked the day when the cases of coronavirus infection in South Korea surged again, and this is why his presence in the clubs is big news.
Jungkook’s night out with friends
One of the clubs that he allegedly visited with his friends ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo, Seventeen’s Mingyu, and NCT’s Jaehyun was the exact place where the COVID-19 positive person also went to. This person went club-hopping, so it is feared that he spread the virus to hundreds of people in just one night.
South Korea is now trying to control the situation to avoid a second wave of the coronavirus outbreak in the country. Nikkei Aian Review reported that the country is aggressively testing and contact tracing thousands of people who went to clubs, especially in the district of Itaewon from April 24 to May 6.
So far, 133 people who went to nine nightclubs in the area were confirmed positive for COVID-19. After it was determined that the infection that started at the club reached four degrees of infections, the South Korean government immediately ordered everyone who partied in Itaewon clubs to self-isolate.
Now, as per Dispatch, Jungkook and the other four idols were already tested, and their results came back negative. However, since the incubation period on the infection is 14 days, they need to go on self-quarantine until May 10. But then, it was said that Cha Eun Woo went on with his schedules as ASTRO just made its comeback.
He appeared on “Music Bank,” “Show! Music Core,” “Hidden Track,” and “CulTwo Show while Jaehyun was at “Inkigayo” on May 3, 10 and 26 as he is the show’s emcee. Fortunately, Jungkook and Mingyu did not have schedules during the period when they should be staying at home and not in contact with anyone.
Jungkook, Eun Woo, Mingyu and Jaehyun were said to have gone to at least two clubs and a restaurant on April 25. They were out together from the evening of 25th to the dawn of April 26.
Big Hit investigates and released an official statement
It was reported that Big Hit Entertainment initially stated that it is investigating the authenticity of Dispatch’s claims about Jungkook. The agency released a new statement and as per Allkpop, it confirmed that the BTS member indeed went to the club in Itaewon with his friends.
“Jungkook visited the restaurant and bar with his friends on the night of April 25th. Afterward, he did not have a cough or a fever and his results came out negative,” part of the statement reads. “He is deeply regretting how he did not follow social distancing measures seriously. We apologize for worrying many people including fans.”
