Congratulations appeared to be in order for Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, who have reportedly hired a surrogate to carry their third child. USA Today said the celebrity couple, who are already parents to (North, 4, and Saint, 18 months), are looking to expand the Kardashian-West brood as doctors have advised the social media star against getting pregnant and carrying the child naturally.
According to a People.com source close to Kim, who first gained notoriety in her family’s reality series “Keeping Up With The Kardashians,” the decision was a natural one, as she had long expressed even on her show about having another child, but was wary because of the health risks involved.
“Kim was never going to let herself get pregnant again. It’s just too dangerous for her. Kanye was initially the one pushing for baby No. 3. Kim felt two healthy kids were enough. [But] as Saint got bigger though, she talked more and more about a third baby. She thinks her kids have grown up too fast. She really misses having a baby in the family. They looked for a while before they found the perfect surrogate,” the source said.
While Kim and Kanye’s decision to reportedly hire a surrogate garnered mixed reactions, it seems that the couple are putting in serious money to make it happen. E! Online said they shelled out not more than USD70,000 for a surrogate, who will then be paid USD45,000 in the next ten months to carry the child to term. Moreover, the surrogate stands to receive a bonus of USD5,000 for each possible twin or triplet.
