SALT LAKE CITY, Sept. 07, 2017 -- Kuali has released Kuali Protocols, a new solution to lighten the complex compliance management burden on research investigators, administrators, chairs, and reviewers.

Developed in close partnership with higher education research institutions, Kuali Protocols provides a single solution for managing research protocols. Protocol creation and review are made easier with a comfortable and consistent interface, intuitive navigation, configurable forms, and smart reviewer tools. The cloud-based solution ensures the software is always up to date, without IT dependence.
“The University of Waterloo is pleased to be working with Kuali to bring an improved ethics system to our researchers. The enthusiasm and efficiency with which the team at Kuali tackles new challenges is exceptional. Kuali has proved to be a valuable and reliable partner, offering excellent service and quality,” says John Thompson, Associate Vice President, University Research.
Faculty spend nearly half of their active research time on administration rather than the research itself*, something Kuali wants to help change.
“Responsible researchers want to make an impact in discovering new knowledge and are committed to ensuring research is done in a safe ethical way,” said Trey Bean, General Manager, Kuali Research. “With Kuali Protocols, we are reducing the complexities and typical friction of compliance management so researchers can spend more time on the actual research and less time on paperwork.”
Kuali Protocols boasts inventive new features to help research administrators accomplish more and make an impact, including:
- The Kuali Form Designer enables easy configuration of any part of a protocol form without having to code or seek IT help. Admins can create the forms and fields to fit their specific needs.
- Field-level commenting and the ability to compare specific changes between protocol versions make the application, review, and post-approval processes easier for all involved — researchers, admins, and reviewers.
Support for IRB and IACUC is available today and support for other protocols is planned. To find out more about Kuali Research, Kuali Protocols, our commitment to open source, and how to become part of the dynamic Kuali Community, visit www.kuali.co/protocols.
