LG Innotek plans to broaden its NVIDIA collaboration into sensing for humanoid robots and robotic hands, extending a physical AI push that the South Korean component maker says could create new supply opportunities.
LG said in an Oct. 22 release that it presented the products in Berlin on Oct. 20. Its display featured a 3-megapixel camera module and a Multi-modal Vision System (MVS). NVIDIA's schedule places workshops on Oct. 20 and conference sessions and exhibits on Oct. 21-22.
The MVS links cameras with LiDAR and radar, LG said, and incorporates NVIDIA's Holoscan Sensor Bridge (HSB). NVIDIA describes HSB as an FPGA-based bridge that transmits sensor information over Ethernet. When paired with a ConnectX SmartNIC, HSB can direct that data into GPU memory; systems without the accelerator instead use the host's CPU and Linux network stack.
LG plans to adapt the work for humanoid-robot vision and robotic hands, and to create sensors compatible with NVIDIA's next-generation platform. The company intends to present additional solutions at CES and GTC in 2027, though it has not announced dates. LG said the project may introduce its camera and sensing offerings to more companies building physical AI systems on NVIDIA's platform.
LG says the effort draws on optical-design knowledge and camera, LiDAR and radar capabilities developed across its mobile, autonomous-driving and robotics businesses. Its release also cites earlier robotics and autonomous-driving work, including cooperation with Boston Dynamics and Aeva.
In June, NVIDIA said LG Innotek planned to supply robotics components designed for NVIDIA's development environment and GPU architecture as part of broader cooperation with LG Group. That announcement supports the wider relationship but did not confirm the October display or the 2027 product roadmap. EconoTimes previously discussed LG's wider NVIDIA cooperation in coverage of the group's 2027 plans.
LG did not disclose customer commitments, order volumes, projected revenue, prices, a production schedule, development costs or a contract value. The company's planned CES and GTC presentations in 2027 are the next milestones it named.
