KEMP, Texas, April 09, 2018 -- Larson Electronics LLC, a leading industrial lighting company, announced the release of a portable power distribution system that offers 480V three phase current and features a 250-amp main lug only panel. This substation UL 1640 certified and NEMA 4X portable panel provides operators with the ability to safely tap into power in indoor and outdoor worksites such as construction sites, shipyards and other hazardous locations.
The MPD-XC-SS316-250MLO-112.5KVA-TKD-MOD2 portable power distribution panel allows operators to operate equipment on 80V AC through a 250-amp main lug only panel. Operators bring 480V three-phase power to the portable distribution system using three 20-foot 4/4 Type W cords with 100-amp pin/sleeve cord caps that are IP67 rated. This portable panel is equipped with one 175-amp 3-pole breaker, which protects the included 112.5 KVA transformer, which converts 480V three phase power to 208Y/120 three phase. Two 125-amp 3-pole breakers protect two 100-amp IEC 60309 pin/sleeve IP67 rated receptacles. Two 70-amp 3-pole, one 60-amp 3-pole, three 30-amp 3-pole and two 20-amp 3-pole breakers are also available in the portable panel. The main lug only panel is protected by a 250-amp load center with breakers for circuit protection.
Unlike most portable power distribution boxes, made of thin gauge low-grade materials, the MPD-XC-SS316-250MLO-112.5KVA-TKD-MOD2 is constructed of 316 stainless steel, designed for serious use in demanding conditions. The entire assembly is mounted to a galvanized steel upright dolly cart style frame that features locking casters and a galvanized roof that protects the power panel from sunlight, debris and corrosion. The cart includes two run-flat tires making this unit stable and easily transportable throughout the worksite.
"The MPD-XC-SS316-250MLO-112.5KVA-TKD-MOD2 is a reliable, durable and safe power distribution system for indoor and outdoor hazardous locations," said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. "It conveniently provides operators with safe access to 480V AC, with the option to transform 208Y/120 equipment with the included 112.5 KVA three phase transformer.”
