KEMP, Texas, April 06, 2018 -- Industrial lighting leader, Larson Electronics LLC, announced the release of a new bug eye explosion proof self-testing LED fixture approved for use in C1D1/C2D1 locations. This fixture is equipped with one 1.1 watt LED lamp with a 3 hour runtime self-diagnostic system, class rated for hazardous locations as an ideal emergency lighting in areas where explosion proof fixtures are required.
The EXP-EMG-LE6-1L from Larson Electronics is a low-profile, explosion proof LED with a high-end emergency back-up system for power outages. The self-testing mechanism will run for 3 hours after a power failure with the help of a maintenance-free 3.6 volt NiCad battery. Once the emergency battery has been used it requires only 24 hours to recharge. A low-voltage disconnect prevents damage to the battery caused by deep discharge if the terminal voltage falls below a certain level. This fixture also has brown-out, short circuit and voltage surge protection.
This emergency LED produces a combined 16.5 lumens, while only drawing in 1.1 watts, making this an extremely energy efficient fixture. This fixture is designed for use in hazardous environments and is resistant to saltwater, making it ideal for outdoor and marine locations This fixture is made for surface mounting and features unions connecting the components allowing vertical and horizontal adjustment. It is made of copper free aluminum and powder coated with polycarbonate lenses, and operates on 120/277V AC at 60Hz.
“This self-testing emergency LED fixture has a minimum 3-hour runtime during backup operation,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “The NiCad battery is maintenance free and recharges completely after 24 hours, so operators don’t have to fuss with the unit, simply hook it up and it’s ready to go.”
