KEMP, Texas, April 25, 2018 -- Industrial lighting leader, Larson Electronics LLC, has announced the release of a mobile hydraulic light tower powered by a 20kW generator that includes six, 1500-watt metal halide lamps that can illuminate 8-9 acres for more than 19 hours. This IP23 rated, telescoping light tower also includes a Deepsea controller for status monitoring, and is ideal for remote locations, temporary sites, military bases and locations without grid power.
The WCDE-6X15M-20KW-220V-MKL-CPR-MOD1 is a portable telescoping light tower with a four-cylinder 20 kW 1,800 rpm water-cooled diesel engine. This powerful generator powers six metal halide lamps producing a total of 900,000 lumens of light, that can illuminate a minimum of 9 acres for over 19 hours without refueling. As a low rpm generator, it operates quietly and does not wear out as fast as 3,600 rpm “throw away” models. The WCDE-6X15M-20KW-220V-MKL-CPR-MOD1 is designed to support 220V 50Hz voltage. It features three-phase 220V at 48.11 amps, as well as five power outputs and an ATS plug. This assembly includes automatic shutdown and an emergency stop switch. A DSE3110 Deepsea controller provides operators with a wide viewing panel and robust monitoring of battery voltage, frequency, runtime and more.
This portable light tower system has 4-stage boom that can be raised up to 25 feet with a hydraulic operation that raises, lowers and can rotates the mast 359 degrees. The boom can withstand 50 mph winds at full height with stabilizing outriggers and is constructed of corrosion-resistant aluminum. All other operating components of this unit are 14-gauge steel, designed to provide airflow for cooling, and the entire unit can easily be transported by its two-wheel trailer mount.
“This portable lighting assembly is perfect for military bases and other remote locations that need ample lighting, but have no reliable access to grid power,” said Rob Bresnahan, CEO of Larson Electronics LLC. “This unit is powerful, yet quiet, and is engineered to withstand very harsh outdoor conditions, while providing excellent illumination for large spaces.”
