Xbox One and PC owners have been languishing in neglect for far too long. The last downloadable content for “Call of Duty: Black Ops III” called “Salvation” is finally coming to Microsoft’s console later this week. Included in the package is the “Zombie Origin” story’s final chapter dubbed “Revelations,” along with four new maps for multiplayer.
According to Attack Of The Fanboy, the final DLC for the game will be coming to the Xbox One and the PC on October 6th. It comes with new maps for the multiplayer mode. Some of them are familiar to fans of the franchise while some are just downright weird.
There’s “Citadel,” which is basically a medieval setup that forces players to fight in close quarters. The midsize map offers a variety of options regarding maneuverability thanks to the drawbridge and the moat. Corners are tight as well, so it should make firefights fast-paced.
“Standoff” from “Black Ops II” makes a return in the form of the new map “Outlaw,” which is basically a reskin of the fan favorite location. “Rupture” is a map that goes for a more futuristic and dystopian approach, and “Micro” has players shooting each other on top of a gigantic picnic table. Whether the characters were miniaturized or they are fighting among giants is not clear.
Finally, “Revelations” brings the “Zombie Origins” storyline to a close, where the players are finally face-to-face with “Doctor Monty.” Expect lots of zombie actions and general absurdity.
Those who purchased a season pass will automatically get the DLC, Tech Post reports. Those who didn’t will need to shell out $14.99 to get it.
At this point, it’s more than possible that “Salvation” has lost some of its appeal to Xbox One owners by remaining a PS4 exclusive for over a month. On the other, it has more zombie fighting, so there’s that to consider.
