CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Friday (26th July) and cover positions up to Tuesday (23rd July). The COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold-Net position long and increasing
The net long positions rose by 5,749 contracts that pushed the net potion to +251.2K contracts.
- Copper – Net position short and decreasing
The net short positions declined by 7,894 contracts that pushed the net potion to -31.9K contracts.
- Silver – Net position long and increasing
The net long positions rose by 17,336 contracts that pushed the net positions to +54.8K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and decreasing
Speculators reduced long positions by 25,911 contracts, which brought the net positions to +397.8K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and increasing
The net short positions rose by 35,808 contracts that pushed the net potion to -191.4K contracts.
