CFTC commitment of traders report was released on Monday (8th July) and cover positions up to Tuesday (2nd July). The COT report is not a complete presenter of entire market positions; however, it represents a good chunk of institutional traders, to have a feel of what expected by the big players.

- Gold – Net position long and increasing
The net long positions rose by 22,392 contracts that pushed the net potion to +258.9K contracts.
- Copper – Net position short and increasing
The net short positions rose by 2,677 contracts that pushed the net potion to -29.2K contracts.
- Silver – Net position long and decreasing
The net long positions declined by 110 contracts that pushed the net positions to +30.5K contracts.
- WTI Crude – Net position long and increasing
Speculators increased long positions by 14,007 contracts, which brought the net positions to +392.8K contracts.
- Natural gas – Net position short and decreasing
The net short positions declined by 4,017 contracts that pushed the net potion to -159.1K contracts.
