Monica Raymund may have announced that she is leaving “Chicago Fire” earlier this year, but she is not done working with crime drama producer Dick Wolf. It has now been confirmed that Raymund is sitting in the director's chair for “Law & Order: SVU” Season 20 Episode 8.
Titled “Hell’s Kitchen,” “Law & Order: SVU” Season 20 Episode 8 will Lieutenant Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and the rest of the Special Victims Unit deal with a sexual assault involving a waitress from a trendy restaurant in New York. The synopsis doesn’t really give away much in terms of plot details, but the episode will guest star Luke Kirby as Andrew Liebowitz, Genevieve Angelson as Kayla Morgan, Jacob Pitts as ADA Hodges, Tiffany Villarin as Lizzy Walczak, and Anthony Chatmon as Darius Moore.
Raymund announced that she will be helming an episode of “Law & Order: SVU” back in July as part of NBC's new “Female Forward” directors initiative. "Excited to finally announce this! I am thrilled and honored to be involved in this program, continuing my relationship with NBC and directing Law & Order: SVU," Raymond said in a post on Twitter. "I fully believe in integration and I look forward to exploring my career as both Actor and Director."
Before the announcement, Raymund also noted that while she was thankful for the opportunity to star in “Chicago Fire” for six seasons, she was ready to take on new projects. “I am so thankful for the journey and especially to all of you for watching, but I have made the decision that it’s time for me to move on to the next chapter in life,” Raymund said on a handwritten note posted on Twitter in May.
“Law & Order: SVU” Season 20 Episode 8 is scheduled to air on Nov. 8. Meanwhile, fans can check out the sixth episode of the season on Oct. 25.
