Lee Min Ho and Jung Il Woo are known to be best friends, but some people do not know about it. They are both talented, handsome, and popular actors, so many fans find it awesome that the hunky guys are very close in real life.
Most fans would think that Min Ho and Il Woo became close after starring in a drama or film together, but this is not really the case. The truth is, the two already know each other even before they enter show business. This is to say that they are friends since high school.
The start of Min Ho and Il Woo’s friendship
The actors met in high school, and before Il Woo even met Min Ho in person, he has been hearing a lot about him in school, which means that “The Heirs” star is really popular even back then. It was said that the two were introduced by a common friend and hit it off from there, and they started to hang out often although they are enrolled in a different school.
“Lee Min Ho is my closest friend, and we’ve been friends since our school days,” Soompi quoted Il Woo as saying. “But we’re complete opposites, and the only thing that we have in common is our taste in food. We eventually came to respect each other’s differences, and we learn to put up with things we didn’t like if the other person liked it and vice versa.”
How their friendship solidified further
Lee Min Ho and Jung Il Woo live in the same neighborhood, and they became actors together as well. Their friendship got stronger after they figured in a freak accident that almost took their lives. In 2006, they went on a vacation with two other friends, but they did not reach their destination after their vehicle was hit by an oncoming car that drove off lane.
Their two companions died, but they miraculously survived with severe injuries. They were 19 years old when it happened, and it was a traumatic event for them, especially because their two other friends had died. Asia Times reported that Lee Min Ho spent many months in the hospital as it took time for his broken ribs, ankle, knee, and thigh to heal.
Lee Min Ho still has metal plates in his thigh when he was shooting “City Hunter,” which only proved how serious his injury was. On the other hand, Jung Il Woo was able to recover as well, but years later, he was diagnosed with Cerebral Aneurysm five years ago. In any case, the two friends remained close, and their bond is tighter than ever.
