LAKE ELMO, Minn., April 18, 2017 -- Lisa A. Thomson, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for Pathway Health, has been appointed to the Center for Aging Research and Education (CARE) Steering Committee, based at the University of Wisconsin–Madison School of Nursing.

The CARE Steering Committee serves as an external strategic advisory and consulting body to assist CARE in achieving its vision: To transform quality of life and quality of care for older adults and their caregivers. CARE innovations include Geri-Res, an online long-term care nurse residency program; Agefully, a website application to provide information and guidance to family caregivers of older adults; a geriatric care simulation toolkit for health science educators; PALS, a physical activity behavior change program for older adults; and a guide to help group home workers support the healthy aging of people with intellectual disability.
CARE Steering Committee members include industry leaders and academic experts in fields including long-term care regulations and quality improvement, rural health policy, health care administration, workforce and leadership development, and strategy and integrated solutions for the senior living continuum.

As Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for Pathway Health, Lisa is responsible for strategic positioning, marketing, communications and new product development. She works closely with industry leaders, providers and professional associations identifying health care initiatives, regulatory changes and challenges affecting the post-acute care market. She has been voted as a “Top Female Healthcare Executive” and serves as a mentor for health care leaders across the nation.
Lisa has an extensive background in leadership and oversight of daily operations in post-acute and other health care settings and is a sought after national thought leader in the health care arena. She is an active member of numerous organizations including, the Women’s Business Leaders – Health Care Executives, American College of Health Care Administrators, American Health Care Executives, National Association for Health Care Quality, National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration (Honorary Life Time Member) and HealthLeaders Media Council (Advisory Council). Lisa received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Long Term Care Administration Licensing Program. She is a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator and is credentialed as a Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional (QIDP), Certified Music Therapist (CMIT) and Certified INTERACT® QIP Master Trainer.
