Lockheed Martin has strengthened its position as a leading global defense contractor after securing multiple U.S. Department of Defense and allied military contracts collectively valued at nearly $500 million. These awards highlight the company’s critical role in naval combat systems, missile defense, and international defense cooperation, while supporting long-term military readiness for the United States and its allies.
The largest portion of the funding comes from a $297.5 million cost-plus-incentive-fee contract modification awarded by the U.S. Department of Defense to Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems. This contract supports the sustainment of the AEGIS Combat System, a cornerstone of U.S. naval missile defense. Work under the agreement includes in-service AEGIS sustainment, Baseline 10 system integration, and the development of technical and product documentation. The project will be carried out in Moorestown, New Jersey, and is scheduled for completion by December 2026, reinforcing the long-term operational reliability of AEGIS-equipped naval vessels.
In a separate contract action, Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems received a $60.1 million cost-plus-fixed-fee and cost-only modification to provide engineering integration and support for the MK 41 Vertical Launching System. This contract includes options that could raise the total value to $144.7 million. Funding and procurement are shared among the U.S. Navy, Japan, and Australia under the Foreign Military Sales program, reflecting continued international demand for advanced U.S. defense technologies. Work will take place at multiple locations across the United States and is expected to be completed by December 2027.
Additionally, Lockheed Martin Space was awarded a $142.6 million contract modification to support the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system for the United Arab Emirates. This modification increases the total THAAD contract value to $876.7 million and covers maintenance and sustainment for two THAAD batteries. Work will occur in the UAE and various U.S. facilities between January 2026 and August 2028.
Funding for these defense contracts spans multiple fiscal years and includes Navy, defense-wide, and Foreign Military Sales sources, underscoring Lockheed Martin’s continued importance in global missile defense and naval security programs.
