CHICAGO, Dec. 08, 2016 -- The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services has selected the Allscripts (NASDAQ:MDRX) managed care solution EZ-CAP to more effectively operate its current managed care portfolio and over 336,000 managed care patients. This partnership will empower Los Angeles County to realize numerous benefits in cost savings, improve effectiveness, and operational efficiencies in clinical and administrative business processes.
Forward-thinking healthcare leaders and administrators are getting prepared for the advent of the value-based world. Allscripts EZ-CAP solves for the obstacles payers, providers and hospitals face in this transition to value-based care, supporting risk-taking payment models and contracts.
The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS), the second largest U.S. municipal system, encompasses hospitals and outpatient clinics. The mission of DHS is to ensure access to high-quality, patient-centered, cost-effective health care for Los Angeles County residents through direct services at DHS facilities, and through collaboration with community and university partners. The agreement between DHS and Allscripts was signed during the third quarter of 2016.
“DHS has always been focused on improving the health of our community and is committed to continue innovating in the managed care population health area,” said Tangerine Brigham, Deputy Director of Managed Care Services, Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. “EZ-CAP will enable us to continue providing high-quality solutions that handle all core administrative systems that often arise when implementing managed care population health initiatives.”
EZ-CAP brings health benefit administration, claims and other healthcare transactions together on one management platform to effectively support daily operations while optimizing workflows. A browser-based system, the solution helps organizations maximize electronic data interchange while minimizing implementation time. By optimizing productivity and managing daily operations, EZ-CAP delivers extensive value as the industry’s leading platform. More than 100 organizations are currently using the solution for the administration of managed care contracts and population health.
“EZ-CAP will empower the Los Angeles County Department of Health to stay focused on serving its members and improving population health, while making the business of healthcare administration simple,” said Martha Thorne, SVP and General Manager, Population Health.
