MILPITAS, Calif. and SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 30, 2017 -- Lumentum Holdings Inc. (“Lumentum”) will showcase its latest photonics-based products supporting the dynamic 3D sensing, industrial diode laser, and commercial laser markets at SPIE Photonics West in San Francisco, Calif., from January 31–February 2, 2017 at Moscone Center in the South Hall in booth #1917. Also, Lumentum technologists will cover a broad range of topics; present papers, and chair conference technical sessions.
Conference attendees are invited to see the Lumentum pump laser portfolio including the newly announced high-output power ST2; the Lumentum ultrafast laser PicoBlade®2; and, several demonstrations of 3D sensing applications which target the consumer and industrial markets.
Lumentum Pump Lasers
With the addition of the ST2, the Lumentum ST pump laser series now offers 200 watts of output power through a 135 µm core fiber. The ultra-compact and high-brightness ST series is a highly integrated device, which enables power scaling of multi-kW fiber lasers. The ST series leverages a long history of fiber-coupled packages such as the L4, incorporating a highly reliable design in a scalable commercial product. The ST series undergoes rigorous testing for endurance and power stability to withstand prolonged use in manufacturing settings.
Ultrafast Industrial Lasers – PicoBlade 2
Announced at last year’s SPIE Photonics West, PicoBlade 2 is now in full production. Customers are leveraging its differentiating features: FlexBurst™, MegaBurst™, Sync™, and AccuTrig™-- giving the PicoBlade 2 operator extraordinary control on the pulse format, pulse timing, and energy for ultimate throughput.
Lumentum has one of the highest precision, highest reliability, ultrafast industrial laser portfolios in the industry. Lumentum ultrafast industrial lasers are ideal for a wide variety of applications, from micromachining to the life sciences and metrology. Lumentum lasers use proprietary passive, self-starting, semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) technology to generate ultra-reliable picosecond or femtosecond pulses.
CORELIGHT™ Series – Kilowatt-Class Fiber Laser Engines
Lumentum highlighted at EuroBLECH in 2016 a next generation high-power fiber series platform -- CORELIGHT YLE. Jointly developed with Amada Holdings Co., Ltd., CORELIGHT YLE is based on industry leading 3 kW modules and will be available in combined versions up to 9 kW later this year. CORELIGHT products are integrated into turn-key fiber laser systems and installed in advanced machine tools for industrial cutting, welding, and material deposition. CORELIGHT beam characteristics enable high-quality and high-speed cutting performance of steel, copper, brass, aluminum, and many other materials. CORELIGHT products meet high-reliability standards critical for high-volume macro-machining industrial environments.
3D Sensing
Lumentum has a wide range of 3D sensing products to enable next-generation capabilities for diverse consumer electronic applications. Lumentum products include one of the industry’s most reliable high-power diode laser portfolios including edge-emitters, fiber-coupled devices, and vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs). With highly reliable products and scalable manufacturing capabilities, Lumentum is well positioned for the growing 3D sensing market.
