MTAR Technologies led a four-company Nifty 500 screen after closing 5.27% above its session volume-weighted average price (VWAP), according to The Economic Times; the displayed figures for another stock fall just short of the scan’s stated threshold.

The Economic Times said a StockEdge scan identified four shares that finished more than 2.5% above VWAP on Oct. 26, 2026. Its listed figures show MTAR closing at ₹6,582.50 against a ₹6,252.99 VWAP, putting the close 5.27% above that session average.

Coforge closed at ₹1,993 against a VWAP of ₹1,932.64, a 3.12% gap; TrackLivePrice reports those end-of-day figures. JSW Steel ended at ₹1,260 compared with ₹1,228.83, a 2.54% gap, with Moneycontrol reporting the same close and VWAP.

Himadri Speciality Chemical closed at ₹522.25 against a VWAP of ₹509.52. That implies a gap of about 2.498%, or 2.50% when rounded to two decimal places, leaving the share just below a strict requirement of more than 2.5%. StockEdge’s scan page says its results use procured third-party data and advises users to verify them. That general data warning does not explain the difference between the stated threshold and these displayed figures.

VWAP summarizes session trading prices, weighting each price by the number of shares traded there. The reported gap is calculated by dividing the difference between a stock’s close and VWAP by the VWAP. This comparison shows where the stock ended relative to its session average; it does not measure the move from the prior close. The scan gives no company-specific reasons for the listed positions.

Nifty Indices says the index selects 500 companies from its eligible universe using full market capitalization and average daily turnover. StockEdge’s FAQ says its scans refresh at the end of each trading day. EconoTimes previously covered an Oct. 21 Nifty 500 VWAP screen led by Sobha.
