A MacBook Air 2019 isn’t expected to be in the lineup for Apple this year as the company appears to be focusing their attention on other products. It can be recalled that the MacBook Air 2018 came out three years after its predecessor hit the market.
The MacBook Air 2019 could see a similar pattern given that those who bought the device will be irked if their variant quickly gets old. Add the fact that the company’s sales on its flagship smartphones saw a decline last year and this possibility drops further, Macworld reported.
However, if the company does create a MacBook Air 2019, what should it change? For starters, the quality of the device’s butterfly switch membrane keyboards should be drastically improved. A recent issue regarding the matter reared its head on the web when Youtuber Lewis Hilsenteger pointed out this irritating issue.
Some of the keyboards of MacBook Air 2018 have been acting up. In Hilsenteger’s case – or the case of many users – the E button is behaving erratically. By pressing the button once, it can sometimes produce several letters and would also add unnecessary spaces when typing a sentence, TechRadar reported. If Apple wants to create a MacBook Air 2019, they should closely look into this.
As for the device’s specs, it’s not expected that the MacBook Air 2019 will change much in this regard barring two possible exceptions: its processor and graphics cards. Reports have suggested that Apple is creating their line of processors to be integrated into their desktop and laptops. However, this new hardware has been slated to come out no sooner than 2020.
So a MacBook Air 2019 will not be slotted with such an upgrade if it does come out this year. Having said all of these, it’s unlikely that a new variant of the MacBook Air will be made soon. As mentioned earlier, it could take three more years or maybe more before the company decides to focus their attention on this particular product again.
