‘Madam Secretary’ season 3’s episode 10, entitled “The Race,” will follow Elizabeth as she attempts to broker peace negotiations between two warring nations. Meanwhile, it was speculated that Russell may not make it out alive following a heart attack.
The synopsis for episode 10 posted on TV Guide reads, “The threat of war between Israel and Iran puts Congress' imminent vote on the U.S. presidential election at risk. Elizabeth (Tea Leoni), however, isn't about to let that happen as she persuades the two reluctant countries to take part in peace negotiations. Meanwhile, it's unclear whether Russell (Zeljko Ivanek) will survive a heart attack.”
It seems that the incoming episode will put Elizabeth in the middle of negotiation peace deals between Israel and Iran after the threat of war between the two countries complicates matters further for the House’s imminent vote on the U.S. presidential election.
Recent allegations against President Conrad Dalton’s (Keith Carradine) administration made his campaign suffer and it is up to his aides to push for the House’s election vote in his favor. Hopefully, Dalton’s experience will put him at an advantage as long as no international incidence will shatter public confidence in him. On the other hand, Elizabeth is feeling the guilt and responsibility for the recent Israel-Iran situation since she was behind the deal, which she pushed Dalton to campaign for.
Meanwhile, it seems that Russell’s life is on the line following a heart attack. In the preceding episode, titled “Snap Back," Russell collapsed during a meeting with Stevie (Wallis Currie-Wood) on her request for a recommendation for Harvard Law, according to a recap posted on Spoiler TV.
The promo for episode 10 opens with Stevie asking Russell if he was alright as he fell on the floor. Elizabeth walks in and demands, “What happened?” Stevie, who tries hard not to panic, performs CPR on Russell. It remains unclear whether Russell will make it out alive in the incoming episode.
‘Madam Secretary’ season 3’s episode 10, entitled “The Race,” is scheduled to premiere on December 18, 2016. It was directed by Eric Stoltz and written by David Grae.
