Mark Harmon's rumors about leaving “NCIS” is up again, but this time, it was said that the cause is his wife, Pam Dawber. It was alleged that the former “Mork and Mindy” actress has been pressuring her husband to quit from the leading CBS police procedural drama so he can retire and focus on the family.
As per Star, Harmon’s busy schedule from his continuous filming and other projects has been hurting his family as they feel neglected. The actor is serving as the lead star, and executive producer of the show and these jobs alone are said to be taking up most of the veteran actor’s time without any left to spend for Pam and their sons.
"Pam would love it if Mark retired," a source allegedly told the magazine.
Similarly, Radar Online also reported that Mark Harmon already left “NCIS” so he can start spending more time with his wife. The publication wrote that he went on a trip to Europe with his better half as soon as he quit from the show. The source claimed that he wants to focus on his relationship with Pam and put the “spark back into their marriage with this trip.”
Although Radar claimed that Harmon already quit and they have already gone to Europe for a vacation, Star magazine wrote that the actor actually rejected his wife’s pleas for him to exit from “NCIS” and retire. The tipster allegedly said that the actor wants to continue to work as he loves to see his bank account grow even more.
Now, Gossip Cop deduced that these claims are inaccurate. The publication was also able to speak with someone who has knowledge of the situation, and the person refuted the rumors and calling them “fabricated stories.”
Finally, the ultimate proof that the story about Mark Harmon leaving “NCIS” is false is the actor’s own interview where he clearly stated that he would remain on the show as Leroy Jethro Gibbs until the end. Plus, he mentioned that his family life is doing great as always despite the rumors.
“I’m proud to be married and I’m proud of who I’m married to. I’m just so proud of her,” Harmon told People. As for his “NCIS” rumors he said, "I've always thought if there's ever a time where the writers are walking into the room and going 'I don't know what to do,' then I think we all have to look at each other and call it a day but we're not there yet."
