SHREWSBURY, N.J., Sept. 11, 2016 -- Individuals often experience an increased sense of calm and reduction in anxiety and stress when using meditation on a regular basis. In order to help patients incorporate techniques to relax mind and body, acupuncturist Scott Bendell will be offering an ancient meditation workshop, reports Marron Wellness Center. Ancient Meditations for the Body and Mind will be offered on September 30th at 7pm in Shrewsbury. Attendance is $10 per person. All levels of meditation practitioners are welcome to attend and those new to meditation are invited to learn more. Explore techniques including meditation with movement and seated meditation. Participants should wear comfortable clothing.
Research has shown that weight gain and stress-related diseases can directly result from experiencing stress over extended periods of time. Meditation, along with exercise, massage therapy and proper nutrition, helps individuals decrease stress and improve immunity. Individuals that implement meditation can enjoy an enhanced quality of life, both emotionally and physically, when incorporating meditation on a regular basis.
Scott Bendell, M.Ac., C.A. has studied Chinese Medicine for over 13 years. He is Nationally Board Certified by the National Board of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). He has apprenticed under the Grandmaster Zhang Yuan Ming to become one of only four students at the time in the country to be a certified Mt. Qingcheng Daoist Medical Qigong therapist and teacher. He incorporates Qigong, or energy healing, into many aspects of his practice.
“A number of studies show that meditation is a simple way to naturally decrease stress and improve immune system function,” said Dr. Scott Bendell. “As an experienced acupuncturist trained in Chinese and Japanese Medicine, I educate patients on the advantages of incorporating meditation and other natural health approaches to improving their overall health. As we are well aware, stress reduces the ability of the immune system to fight off illness, inflammation and disease. Meditation not only calms the mind but helps to restore balance within the body, allowing all parts of the body to function as they should. I am passionate about helping patients understand all of their options in improving their health naturally. I invite new and current patients to experience the benefits of meditation first-hand at the upcoming Ancient Meditation workshop hosted at the Marron Wellness Center. Come and feel the difference mediation can make.”
Scott Bendell, M.Ac, C.A., acupuncturist at Marron Wellness Center, serves residents of Red Bank, Oakhurst, Shrewsbury, and Monmouth County, NJ.
