AMARILLO, Texas, April 01, 2016 -- Maxor National Pharmacy Services, LLC (“Maxor” or the “Company”), a leading pharmacy services platform, today announced the retirement of John Ward, CEO of Maxor effective April 4. In October 2015, Mr. Ward had indicated his intention to retire by the end of 2016. He will remain on the Board of Directors and a significant investor in the Company.
Mike Ellis will be assuming the CEO role at Maxor. Prior to joining Maxor, Mr. Ellis was a Corporate Vice President for Walgreen Co. where he was responsible for the specialty pharmacy, infusion and 340B businesses for the past five years. Mr. Ellis held senior management positions in specialty pharmacy and PBM services at AdvancePCS/Caremark/CVS for seven years. Mr. Ellis is also the immediate past President of National Association of Specialty Pharmacy (NASP).
Mr. Ellis is a graduate of the University of Arkansas, from which he received a degree in Pharmacy.
Maxor Founder Jerry Hodge commented, “I would like to thank John for his 40 years of friendship and I am deeply grateful for John’s leadership over the last twelve years. He established a strong culture at the Company and contributed meaningfully to Maxor’s significant growth during this period.”
