The Ebi Burger from their 2019 Flavors of Japan line, and the K-Chicken Burger from their 2020 Taste of Korea line are making a comeback this week in the Philippines as part of McDonald's Flavors of Asia line.
These East Asian-style burgers, with their distinctive umami flair and comfy-inducing quality that Western fast food is famous for, have become a big hit.
With its tempura-coated shrimp patty, Ebi Burger delivers a delicious seafood experience with ingredients like a tangy-creamy Thousand Island sauce and lettuce. If you want to go chicken, the K-Chicken Burger is the way to go—a fiery, spicy sandwich with a crispy chicken fillet, cheddar cheese, kimchi, and a gochujang-laced dressing.
Prices start at P175 for a small meal with fries and a drink.
Side dishes are a wonderful way to boost the flavor and variety of your meal, and McDonald's has introduced East Asian-themed sides that are ideal for topping burgers or snacking on their own.
The Shake Shack fries in heavenly Nori with roasted seaweed and the delicious Honey Butter.
Finish your meal on a sweet and creamy note with the Strawberry Banana Sundae, a.k.a. McDonald's soft-serve drizzled with strawberry-banana syrup; or try the Matcha for some healthy green-tea action.
Starting March 2, the SAID meals and drinks will be available for dine-in, takeout, drive-thru, and delivery. But on March 1—one day before their official release date—you can get a taste of the K-Chicken Burger, Ebi Burger, Strawberry Banana Sundae, and Matcha Sundae using the McDonald app.
