After much anticipation and a few teasers of international treats, McDonald's customers in the U.S. are in for a treat as the fast-food giant brings back a fan-favorite menu item. The McCafé Oreo Frappé, a delicious blend of rich chocolate, a hint of coffee, and crunchy OREO Cookie Pieces, is returning.
Initially launched nearly ten years ago as a limited-time offer for the 2015 summer season, this beloved item briefly reappeared on the spring and summer menus in 2023. Now, by popular demand, it's returning to participating McDonald's locations nationwide, with some spots already serving it ahead of a full rollout expected by May.
A Taste of Indulgence
For those unacquainted with this decadent treat, the McCafé Oreo Frappé is described on the official menu as a "sweet treat made with rich chocolate flavor, a hint of coffee, and OREO Cookie Pieces, blended with ice, then hand-topped with whipped light cream and extra OREO Cookie Pieces for good measure."
Parade said this return has sparked joy among McDonald's enthusiasts, with many taking to social media to express their excitement. Comments on foodie influencer Snackgator's Instagram post announcing the comeback ranged from eager anticipation to outright demands for the Frappé to become a permanent menu fixture.
Fans' Reactions and Wishes
Yahoo noted that the enthusiasm for the return of the McCafé Oreo Frappé is palpable, with fans celebrating the arrival of their beloved beverage. "Thank goodness because this is delish!!" exclaimed one fan. Amidst the joy, however, some users reminisced about the Chocolate Chip Frappé, discontinued about eight years ago, wishing for its return as well. Despite the mixed feelings, the McCafé Oreo Frappé's comeback is undeniably a crowd-pleaser, making this summer an even sweeter season for McDonald's patrons.
