McDonald's Indonesia has added something new to its menu and it is a food item that has never been on the burger joint's food list before. The restaurant is offering a new kind of pie but it is far from the Apple pie that is popular in its stores.
The new pie in McDonald's Indonesia is not sweet as well but this is not uncommon these days. In fact, the Japanese unit of McDonald's recently launched its beef stew pie, and this is savory rather than fruity sweet.
The Indonesian branch of the Chicago, Illinois-headquartered fast-food company has also unveiled its "Pizza Pie" which is part of its "Taste of Italy" menu selection. Apparently, the restaurant's new food items pay homage to Italian flavors.
According to Mashed, McDonald's Indonesia is serving a pizza pie and it is a pastry with an Italian-inspired filling of tomato sauce, cheese, mushrooms, and peppers which are popular ingredients in pizza. Customers can enjoy this with its crispy crust and perfect to be eaten with french fries.
At any rate, aside from the Pizza Pie, McDonald's Indonesia's "Taste of Italy" food lineup also includes two kinds of alfredo sandwiches and these are the McSpicy Alfredo Burger with chicken and the Beef Alfredo Burger with scrambled eggs.
These Italian food items are being promoted with a new drink as well and it is called the Italian soda. This beverage's visuals already make it very appealing and coupled with its great taste, the new drink is a must-try.
It is prepared with layers of red, white, green to represent the colors of the Italian flag. Strawberry, lemon, and coconut gel are used to create the colors and thirst-quenching taste. What's more, the Italian soda is completed with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Finally, as mentioned on BrandEating, the other Italian-themed food items that are currently being sold at McDonald's Indonesia are Tiramisu Iced Coffee, Tiramisu Iced Coffee Float, and Tiramisu McFlurry. Just like the other seasonal additions in fast-food chains, the "Taste of Italy" menu is also available for a limited time only and will be in stores until Jan. 16, 2022.
