LAS VEGAS, Sept. 28, 2016 -- Medical Cannabis Payment Solutions (OTC Link, REFG) president and CEO, Jeremy Roberts, recently attended the National Conference of State Legislatures’ 2016 Legislative Summit in Chicago, where legislators and staff from all 50 states plus territories and commonwealths attended. The event was held in August.
In addition to meeting with individual legislators, Mr. Roberts and other conference participants attended a session highlighting the growing problems in banking for the medical cannabis industry. Of note, the session spoke directly to multiple pieces of legislation from multiple states, introduced with the assistance and input of Medical Cannabis Payment Solutions.
“Meeting and networking with other states and their elected officials is invaluable as we continue our core business objectives,” said Mr. Roberts. “Working for more ways to introduce legislation in more states will provide a tremendous benefit for our shareholders. We’ve been speaking with legislators since the event took place.”
Over the past two years, the executive team at Medical Cannabis Payment Solutions has worked with state lawmakers to introduce legislation. “We’ve had some successes and we’re anxious for the coming legislative sessions,” said Mr. Roberts. “Over the next few months we should see some progress.”
