Meghan Markle becoming a member of the royal family was bound to usher in a new era and this is exactly what is happening. By all accounts, the former “Suits” actress has been owning her role as Duchess of Sussex in the most American way possible. She is even the boss in her relationship with Prince Harry if their body language is anything to judge by.
As Vanity Fair notes, Meghan Markle has been bombarded by controversy since almost the second she became a member of the royal family. The close scrutiny she is subjected to has yielded accusations of breaking protocol and she has had to contend with the drama generated by her American family. Through it all, however, it would appear that the Duchess has only gotten more comfortable in her role.
Rather than completely forgetting who she is and assimilating with how the royal family does things, Meghan Markle has visibly integrated her former life as an actress and lifestyle blogger in her new role. This is most obvious during her tour of Australia, where she practically shines. There have even been rumblings about the former actress being the most approachable royal yet, which is hardly surprising.
A report by The Sun also points out signs of Meghan Markle being the dominant person in her relationship with Prince Harry. This conclusion is based on the couple’s body language as interpreted by Judi James who is an expert on such subjects. Gestures such as putting her hand on Prince Harry’s thighs or grabbing his arms might seem innocent PDAs, but they might indicate something else.
They could be interpreted to mean that Meghan Markle is “the boss” in the relationship, but is sensitive enough to Prince Harry’s ego to known how to soothe it. Basically, she is the most American royal to have ever existed.
