Melania Trump and Donald Trump have been popular for their New Year’s Eve celebrations even before they became the first lady and president of the United States. The first family is most likely going to follow through with their tradition in welcoming 2020 at their favorite destination.
Melania Trump, Donald Trump: Another New Year’s Eve party in Mar-a-Lago?
In a tweet last Dec. 12, Donald Trump revealed that he would be arriving in Mar-a-Lago “in two weeks.” It is then possible for the president to be with the first lady at their favorite Palm Beach destination to welcome the new decade.
I will be there in two weeks, The Southern White House! https://t.co/2djJrzAEfZ

Romper also pointed out that a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) notice was posted shortly after Donald Trump’s tweet. The report was referring to a Dec. 13 flight advisory alert in the West Palm Beach, Florida region. The agency suggested it will be posting several Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs) within Dec. 20 to Jan. 5, 2020. These dates correspond to Donald Trump’s tweet and suggest that the first family could be staying in Mar-a-Lago a few days after the New Year.
Trumps’ NYE parties over the years
Donald Trump is known for his affinities with attending and throwing lavish parties, whether in New York or in Palm Beach, Florida. The real estate mogul actually met then-model Melania Knauss at a New York Fashion Week gala in the late ‘90s that ultimately led to their first date.
Palm Beach Post recalls Donald Trump throwing parties at Mar-a-Lago years before he married Melania Trump. He reportedly hosted up to 700 guests at a newly built ballroom to welcome 2005 – a few weeks before he tied the knot with the now-first lady.
This tradition apparently went on through the following year. However, the first couple was not together at the 2018 New Year’s Eve celebrations. Donald Trump stayed behind at the White House as the longest government shutdown in the history of modern America was unfolding.

In a video greeting, Donald Trump made sure his followers knew that he was “working” while they were “partying.” He added, “I don't blame you. Enjoy yourselves. We're going to have a great year. Have a really, really Happy New Year.” Melania Trump, on the other hand, welcomed 2019 with family and celebrated it by posting a rare selfie on her social media page.
