Mexico’s retail sales dropped for the second straight month in June, according to the official data released on Wednesday. This suggests that the domestic demand in Mexico might be easing. Retail sales fell in 1.1 percent sequentially on seasonally adjusted basis.
On a year-on-year basis, retail sales rose 0.4 percent in June. In the recent months, Mexican economy has been mainly underpinned by private spending. Earlier in August, the Mexican retail group ANTAD stated that sales at stores open for at least a year grew 4 percent in July on a year-on-year basis.
