NBA legend Michael Jordan will increase his investment in Sportradar Group AG, the leading global provider of sports betting and entertainment products and services, and will serve as a special adviser to the company's board.
Jordan invested in the company years before, primarily driven by CEO, Carsten Koerl's passion and vision for transforming the sports technology industry.
As a special advisor, Jordan will help with management, guidance, strategic counsel focused on the US market, product development, and marketing.
Jordan said he is looking forward to assuming a formal role with the company as it begins its next chapter.
Earlier this month, Jordan joined the company's directors, executives, and lead investors in a NASDAQ ceremony celebrating Sportradar’s first day as a publicly-traded firm.
Sportradar’s chairman of the Global Board of Directors, Jeffery Yabuki, noted that besides being an all-time iconic figure, Jordan is also a legendary leader. Moreover, Yabuki stressed that the NBA star believes in Sportradar’s “mission to enhance fan engagement through their fully-integrated technology and services platform.
