Michael Kors unveiled its highly anticipated fall/winter collection at New York Fashion Week on Thursday, celebrating the brand’s 45th anniversary with a runway show that blended timeless elegance and modern New York edge. Hosted at the iconic Metropolitan Opera House, the presentation highlighted the designer’s signature aesthetic while reinforcing Michael Kors’ influence in the global luxury fashion market.
Models, including Alex Consani and Christy Turlington, descended the grand staircase in wool coats, tailored suits, embroidered florals, and soft cashmere sweater dresses. Feathered handbags and monochromatic knitwear added texture and sophistication to the collection, reflecting a refined yet practical approach to fall fashion trends. The collection was inspired by what Kors described as “no nonsense to being chic in New York,” capturing the city’s dual personality—gritty yet glamorous.
“New York is tough and resilient, but also opulent and fabulous,” Michael Kors told Reuters, emphasizing how this balance continues to shape his design philosophy. The fall/winter lineup embraced structured silhouettes and luxurious fabrics, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to wearable luxury and polished minimalism.
The star-studded front row included Gabrielle Union, Elle Fanning, Leslie Bibb, and Vogue Chief Content Officer Anna Wintour, underscoring the brand’s cultural relevance during New York Fashion Week 2026.
The runway show comes shortly after Capri Holdings, the parent company of Michael Kors, reported a 5.6% decline in the brand’s holiday quarter sales, attributing the drop to reduced promotional activity. Michael Kors generates more than 80% of Capri Holdings’ total revenue, making its performance critical to the company’s financial health. Capri Holdings shares fell 3.39% on Thursday and are down 12% over the past year.
Despite recent sales challenges, the anniversary collection reaffirmed Michael Kors’ enduring presence in luxury fashion and its continued impact on New York style.
