The General Counsel of the Year Awards program honors New Jersey’s standout General Counsels and Chief Legal Officers for their efforts in contributing to the success of their companies. Finalists will be recognized and winners announced during an awards breakfast and ceremony on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, New Jersey.
Jay L. Kooper was appointed Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary of Middlesex Water Company in March 2014, and currently serves as an officer of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Public Utility Law Section, a member of the New Jersey Utilities Association’s Finance and Regulations Committee, and a member of the National Association of Water Companies’ Regulatory Law and Rates Committee and New Jersey Chapter. In January 2016, Mr. Kooper was elected to the Board of Trustees of Temple B’Nai Abraham in Livingston, New Jersey, where he resides with his wife Jessica and sons Jordan and Ethan.
