Mineral Resources Ltd has resumed haulage operations at its Onslow Iron project in Western Australia after a temporary halt due to a road train accident last week. Operations restarted on March 21 following consultations with WorkSafe WA, part of the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, to review safety protocols and implement enhanced risk mitigation measures.
The company confirmed that its previously announced road upgrade program remains on track and is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2026. This infrastructure improvement is expected to support long-term efficiency and safety at the Onslow Iron project.
In a further boost to its operations, Mineral Resources’ transhipper vessel, the MinRes Rosily, began service at the Port of Ashburton on March 22. With the vessel now operational, the project’s annual transhipping capacity has increased significantly to 28 million tonnes. This development marks a major step forward in the company’s plans to scale production and improve logistics.
Despite the brief pause in haulage, Mineral Resources stated that its Onslow Iron production guidance for the fiscal year 2025 remains unchanged. The company’s continued focus on operational safety, infrastructure upgrades, and logistics expansion highlights its commitment to meeting long-term output targets.
The Onslow Iron project, one of Australia’s major iron ore ventures, plays a key role in Mineral Resources’ growth strategy. With haulage back on track and shipping capacity enhanced, the project is well-positioned to meet market demand and contribute significantly to the country's iron ore exports.
