Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. announced that it has signed a fintech agreement with Mizuho Bank and Japanese integrated trading and investment business conglomerate Marubeni Corporation.
The agreement will start exploring the opportunities to offer new financial services using fintech in the ASEAN region.
“As various new fintech based financial services are recently being offered, we will explore opportunities to provide community-based financial businesses in the ASEAN region where the settlement and e-commerce market is expected to greatly expand in the future,” the release stated.
Precisely, the partner companies are considering providing services with the help of e-money and the collaboration aims to provide financing services based on the transaction data that are accumulated through the settlements, and digital marketing services.
By signing the agreement, the collaborating parties will first form an integrated project team of Japan and ASEAN. They will soon after strive for the early realization of those initiatives by fully utilizing Mizuho Group’s know-how in the financial field, progressive initiatives in the fintech business field as well as network with startup companies.
