“Mob Psycho 100” is undoubtedly one of the anime series that is garnering plenty of fans’ attention all over the world. With the second season officially concluding last April, many followers have been asking about “Mob Psycho 100” season 3.
Unfortunately, the production of “Mob Psycho 100” season 3 has not been officially announced. One would think that its growing popularity would lead to a quick announcement, but it has been more than three months since season 2 ended and the third season’s status is still under wraps.
‘Mob Psycho 100’ season 3 production: What to expect?
Avid fans of the series should not discount the possibility of waiting multiple years to see “Mob Psycho 100” season 3. The fanbase has already seen more than two years of hiatus between season 1 and season 2, and it is best to hope for the same case to avoid too much disappointment.
On the other hand, the production “Mob Psycho 100” season 3 is more likely going to get the green light. Monsters & Critics reported that the anime, based on ONE’s same title webcomic series, has actually been a profitable show for the producers. The viewership of season 1 and season 2 reportedly surpassed the numbers of “My Hero Academia” season 1-3. “Mob Psycho 100” season 1’s home media copies reportedly sold as good as “Attack on Titan” season 3.
These reports prove a couple of things. First, “Mob Psycho 100” is a successful series that managed to secure a loyal fanbase in Japan and around the world. Second, these positive turnouts will most probably convince producers that “Mob Psycho 100” season 3 must be released.
‘Mob Psycho 100’ season 3 release date: Premiere happening in 2020 or 2021?
As mentioned, the first two seasons saw a relatively longer break than most anime series. And the lack of updates about the “Mob Psycho 100” season 3 production for several months seemingly hints at another years-long wait.
Based on the availability of BONES, the same report speculates the studio might accommodate one more project slated for a 2020 release date before working on “Mob Psycho 100” season 3. This could mean that the ONE’s anime series will not premiere until 2021.
