“Modern Family” season 10 episode 1 is a momentous time for ABC's longest-running sitcom. But while it was renewed for another installment after the ninth season, it was confirmed that this will be the end.
Showrunners Steve Levitan and Christopher Lloyd confirmed this information when ABC ordered another season in May last year.
"Our plan is to end it at 10. If we can leave with most of our audience wanting more, I think that's the right way to do it,” Levitan told The Hollywood Reporter. “Never say never, but I just can't imagine that we'd go past that.”
Plot, What to Expect in the Finale
“Modern Family” season 10 episode 1 is titled “I Love A Parade” and it featured the July 4th celebration. The holiday was filled with typical American events like hotdog-eating contests and colorful patriotic parades.
The pilot was a fun-filled holiday, and episode 2, titled “Kiss and Tell,” is up for the next broadcast on Oct. 3. Although it was a happy opening, things will get serious from there as the family will have to face the death of someone significant.
This sad detail was already revealed by the showrunners earlier this year. But despite the info, they did not exactly say who it will be but just mentioned “a significant character.” He added that this turn of events will have lasting repercussions that will be seen across several episodes.
“We’re handling some bigger life events in this season,” Christopher Lloyd told Entertainment Weekly. “We do deal with death and it’s not easy to do because that’s a heavy subject.”
Where to Watch It Online
“Modern Family” season 10 episode 1 premiered on Sept. 26 at 9:30 p.m. but it can still be watched online. For fans who can’t view it on ABC for some reason, the new episodes can be streamed on ABC’s website. Viewers can also download the ABC app via Google Play, Amazon or iTunes and watch the show on any device at any time.
Moreover, “Modern Family” season 10 can also be viewed via on Hulu, Sling TV, and FuboTV. “Modern Family” season 10 airs every Wednesday at 9 p.m.
