‘Modern Family’ Season 8, Episode 14 Spoilers: “Heavy is the Head” – Cam Struggles with Traumatic Childhood Incident; Phil Realizes Property Investment with Jay a Bust

‘Modern Family’ season 8’s episode 14, titled “Heavy is the Head,” is set to follow Cam as he struggles with a traumatic childhood incident when he finds himself at the hospital. Meanwhile, Phil will realize that his property investment with Jay may be headed for failure.

The synopsis for “Heavy is the Head” posted on TV Guide states, “Cam (Eric Stonestreet) goes to the hospital with a head injury, but is leery of having an MRI due to a childhood incident in a well on the family farm.

Meanwhile, Phil (Ty Burrell) and Jay's (Ed O’Neill) real-estate investment may not turn out to be the dream scenario Phil hoped it would be; and Gloria's (Sofia Vergara) birthday gift for Claire (Julie Bowen) rubs her employees the wrong way after budget cuts at the closet company.”

It seems that Cameron’s traumatic childhood incident is making him avoid taking an MRI at all costs after he finds himself at the hospital with a head injury. It would be interesting to follow Cam as he struggles with getting the procedure. It remains unknown whether the episode will feature some flashbacks to his childhood, which apparently involves life in his family’s farm.

In the preceding episode, titled "Do It Yourself," Cam and his husband, Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson), attempted to teach and initiate their young daughter the way of life as well as the value of hard work. However, in the process of teaching Lily (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons), things went haywire and Cam was attacked by a wasp.

Meanwhile, Phil managed to get Jay to co-invest in a property he wanted to develop despite the latter’s troubles at home with Gloria. Jay struggled through his insecurities when his wife hired a younger, more capable handyman and sports guy to coach their son.

The upcoming episode may reveal that Phil and Jay’s investment may be a failure. This makes Phil rethink his original strategy as well as goals, according to TV Muse.

Claire, on the other hand, is set to receive a rather luxurious birthday present from Gloria. Gloria’s attempts in winning her step-daughter over may be one filled with good intentions; however, this present will not send the right message among Claire’s employees considering she had to do some harsh budget cuts at work.

‘Modern Family’ season 8’s episode 14, titled “Heavy is the Head,” is scheduled to air on February 22, 2017 on ABC. It was directed by Ken Whittingham and written Danny Zuker. It will be followed by episode 15, titled "Finding Fizbo," directed by James Bagdonas and is scheduled to air on March 1.
