Major Asian markets are trading on a positive note on Friday after turbulent week. China's stock market extended a volatile week of trading, swinging between gains and losses early Friday.
Japan's benchmark Nikkei 225 index rallied 0.82% to 17,912.26 points within the first hour of trade on Friday, while Tokyo's broader Topix gauge jumped 0.51% to 1,466.76 points.
Hong Kong's benchmark Hang Seng index advanced 0.82% to 20,507.57 points shortly after the opening bell, and mainland China's benchmark Shanghai Composite rallied 1.41% to 3,168.95 points at the same time.
Korea's benchmark Kospi index fell 0.61% to 1,892.80 points this morning in Seoul.
The benchmark Australian S&P/ASX 200 index reversed early losses to trade 0.31% higher at 5,026.00 points in Sydney, while New Zealand's benchmark S&P/NZX 50 index plummeted 1.33% to 6,130.73 points this afternoon in Wellington.
