The Golden State Warriors has entered the entertainment business and will be producing movies, music, and events. The NBA franchise announced its new venture on Monday, April 18.
As mentioned on CNBC, GSW’s new entertainment division was simply named Golden State Entertainment or GSE. This division will produce licensed documentary content, hold live events that are not related to basketball, and produce music. The events are to be mostly held in the Bay Area.
In an interview with CNBC, the NBA team’s chief legal executive, David Kelly, said that GSE will be releasing documentaries featuring story recaps of two former NBA guards. He did not disclose the names as the deal is not yet finalized.
He further explained that GSE will “tell stories of people that shape and move culture.” In the new entertainment label of the Golden State Warriors, Kelly has been tasked to manage it as its chief business officer.
“It is an honor to be a part of this new chapter in the Warriors story,” Kelly said in a separate press release. “Audiences demand compelling content that speaks to them on a visceral level. With the launch of Golden State Entertainment, we are excited to create content that celebrates the nuances of our experiences as athletes, artists, and members of diverse communities in ways that not only entertain but hopefully create opportunities for learning and deep engagement.”
In any case, GSE’s entrance into the entertainment sector also includes music and for this, it was launched with a big bang with a new song release from GOT7’s BamBam. Apparently, the Kpop star has teamed up with the Warriors for his music career outside of South Korea and Thailand.

BamBam will officially release his new single titled “Wheels Up” on April 22 but he already debuted the song through a live performance during the halftime of the Warriors and Los Angeles Laker’s game match on April 7 at the Chase Center. The track also features MAYZIN, an Oakland-based recording artist who recently signed a recording contract with the GSE.
Meanwhile, GOT7’s BamBam made history by becoming the first Kpop idol to perform at the NBA. Koreaboo further mentioned that as part of his collaboration with the GSW, exclusive merchandise featuring BamBam was also released.
