With months still left before “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10 airs, fans barely know anything about the events to unfold. However, there has been a spreading speculation that LAPD Detective Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) could face his demise this season.
First, it is important to note that Detective Deeks was alive and well before season 9 ended. However, there have been instances where he hinted at wanting to leave the law enforcement field. These happened noticeably in the last episodes of the latest installment. So, many fans cannot help but think that maybe it was a plot to prepare for Detective Deeks’ possible exit in “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10.
However, fans should stay calm at the moment since there are indications that Olsen is back on set for the filming of “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10. The actor posted a photo on Instagram last week confirming that he is back working for the show.
Despite Olsen’s social media post, reports have it that the rumor of his exit from the “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10 just would not disappear. There are even speculations that Olsen was just back on set only to film his final scenes with actress Daniela Ruah, who portrays the role of Special Agent Kensi Blye and Detective Deeks’ fianceé.
On the other hand, there is a great chance that Detective Deeks’ thought of leaving the LAPD to focus on being a father will just open up to a new dimension in his relationship with Kensi in “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10. Like fans have seen in other police procedural franchises, characters always face a conflict between focusing on their career and wanting to have a happy, peaceful personal life.
And since Detective Deeks and Kensi are on their way to building their own family, that type of character conflict tends to happen. But in many cases, the story always ends up with the character solving it and having an even more strengthened relationship with their onscreen partner. So this is another possibility that the “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10 might feature.

What is good for now is the fact that Detective Deeks and Kensi are both back on set. Meanwhile, “NCIS: Los Angeles” season 10 is slated to air starting on Sunday, Sept. 30, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
